Customer Trip to Namibia

For the fifth time, we had the pleasure of organizing and conducting a trip for BASF’s Glasurit customers (with paying participants). Due to the excellent value for money and the superb conditions, we were able to season the trip with numerous extras. In order to get the participants attuned, a breakfast with a breathtaking view was served in the mountains of Windhoek, followed by two days in a private game reserve, where elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, lions, and cheetahs were encountered at close range. In Swakopmund, the group drove ATVs through the desert to the Atlantic coast, where they enjoyed champagne and oysters. A seal’s visit on board turned a catamaran tour of Walvis Bay into a lasting memory, as did the delicious calamari served. Another highlight was an SUV excursion through a lunar-type landscape, where champagne for the cocktail reception was delivered by skydivers. And the dinner setup in the midst of the rocky desert could not have been any more romantic: hundreds of candles, red carpet, campfire! The last stop of the journey was Sossusvlei Lodge: The early-morning ride in a hot-air balloon over the dunes was unforgettable!

Linked Living

Business representatives from Germany and Austria discussed the role of start-ups as a driving force of the economy at a PR event introducing “Linked Living,” our client’s unique residential project for college students and young professionals in Vienna. This was followed by the opening of the “Chromotopic Moves” light installation by Victoria Coeln, a truly exceptional artist. Keynote speaker was former German President Christian Wulff: “We must hope that a Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg could also come from Germany or Austria. Europe needs strategies to survive in the Industrial Age 4.0.” The numerous guests who attended also had an opportunity to gain insights into the successful project with nearly 600 residential units in the immediate vicinity of the business school. Germany, too, to revitalize the brand.

For the ninth time, the annual IT partner conference of the leading provider of network security appliances and world market leader in unified threat management solutions was hosted in Frankfurt. Over the course of two days, the latest trends and developments in IT security were presented to more than 250 attendees. Once again, clients from all sectors of the economy found a perfect platform here to get in touch with the experts. The keynote speaker provided an entertaining highlight to the event by not talking about inventions for the far future but rather about the concrete realities of tomorrow. We this, he added further conversation topics to the soiree that rounded off and concluded a very successful conference.

Even for experienced travelers, Vietnam and Cambodia is an exciting destination. Sixty insurance agents spent an exciting and interesting week with us in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and Siem Reap. On the one hand, Vietnam’s capital is developing at a breathtaking pace into a trendy modern metropolis with great clubs and restaurants. On the other hand, the temple complex of Angkor Wat in Cambodia feels like a journey back in time. In a single week, we traveled by xai lam, tuk-tuk, Vespa, oxcart, military Jeep plus barges, large and small. We explored Saigon, the Củ Chi tunnels, the Mekong Delta, Siem Reap, the temples of Angkor Wat and the hinterland. And we enjoyed excellent food, too: from simple but delicious elephant’s ear fish in the Mekong Delta to a four-course meal catered by Park Hyatt for the highlight of the trip, the final evening at the Thommanon Temple, with traditional dancers and modern acrobats – a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Vintage U.S. school buses took 300 V.I.P. trade partners from the leather-goods show to one of the city’s most impressive venues, illuminated in vibrant corporate colors. Indoors, guests were treated to classic U.S. television commercials from the 1950s, played back in a suitable ambiance recreated with historical luggage pieces and other memorabilia. A spectacular suitcase juggling act, an internationally known female DJ and many other colorful surprises, topped off by a barbecue dinner, American style, led to the presentation of the new collection, now available in Germany, too, to revitalize the brand.

Approximately 200 Xerox trade partners met in Frankfurt for a two-day partner conference, highlighting practical support for and dialog with dealers. Not only products and solutions were addressed in lectures and breakout sessions but also general topics that retailers have to deal with in their daily business. Workshops on employee acquisition and in-house succession were very popular. As a final highlight, the event concluded with an evening on a riverboat with an impressive view of the “Mainhattan” skyline. (Armin Weiler, senior reporter, ChannelPartner)

Sponsored by Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, prominent members of the advisory council include former Minister of Health Daniel Bahr, Jens Spahn (Member of the Bundestag), and Minister of State Katrin Altpeter.
